MANNY CARRASCO has been drawing and painting professionally for over 20 years with expertise in traditional illustration, storyboarding, painting, 2D animation, digital painting and 3D animation. He works in a variety of styles and mediums depending on the request and needs of the project.
FINE ART and COMMISSIONS:
Manny's traditional artwork centers around birds and mammals in their natural surroundings. As a Master Falconer, he is an avid raptor advocate and has focused a substantial amount of his work on his love of falconry and birds of prey. Manny is acting president and founder of Expedition Art, a non profit organization for artists to help raise money for wildlife and conservation through art.
His most recent artistic exploration has been influenced by his experiences in Zimbabwe where he worked with veterinary group AWARE (Animal and Wildlife Area Research and Rehabilitation) on rhino conservation.
COMMERCIAL DESIGN and ILLUSTRATION:
Manny a.k.a. "MANu" has worked in the advertising, toy, videogame and film industries. His feature film/animation credits include Space Jam, Anastasia, Prince of Egypt, the Flintstones, and Sonic the Hedgehog as well as work for studios including ReelFx, DreamWorks, Fox Feature, Richard Rich Studios, Warner Brothers and Nickelodeon. He has created concept art and animation assets for videogame studios including Sony, Acclaim Entertainment, NC Soft, Edge of Reality and UbiSoft and Zynga.
Manny speaks fluent Spanish and English. In his spare time, he trains with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu master Relson Gracie. He loves all things outdoors and is an avid hiker, rock climber and camper. He volunteers time yearly to Texas Parks and Wildlife educating the public about birds of prey as well as rehabilitating birds of prey when needed. He holds a certification as a Master Falconer and flies with a Red Tail hawk during hunting season. He actively participates in the North American Falconry Association and travelled to England, Scotland and Dubai for the International Falconry Festival representing the United States. He runs a non-profit with his long-time art friends and is working on a "to-be-announced" book project to raise money for big cat conservation.
